Cilento
The land of Parmenide, the land of Zenone, the land of light and deep philosophy; the land linked to the Poseidon myth, to the greatness of Eleatica’s school, and to the amazing lucidity of Giambattista Vico; the land of castles, of water-mills and of shady forests. The Cilento stretches from the west in the Tyrreneum Sea, a high, precipitous coastline between the Gulf of Salerno and the Gulf of Policastro. To the east the Vallo del Diano, in which the Tanagro River flows. Since 1991, the region has been known as The National Park of Cilento and Vallo del Diano.
